Whilst I’ve been setting up my business I’ve been toying with the idea of going for one specific niche, but I can’t help but think that athletes, musicians and entrepreneurs as high performers all have many things in common. Here I share 10 reasons why:
1. There is a need a high level of self-awareness⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2.You need an acceptance of failure, not an avoidance of it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Whether you work in team sports, the music scene or within a business, you are required to work with others in a fluid and highly interactive way.⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. In your own ways you want to stand out from the crowd, having a competitive edge over peers, or just improving on our own performance.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. When you’re performing, you’re not just performing for yourself, but for others watching and experiencing the performance, even in a business sense you are still performing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
6. All three require a level of commitment, to practise, to train, to learn. You have to put in time and energy to achieving their goals, and this means becoming a sponge for learning and growing.⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
7. To be the best you need self confidence, and in my opinion you can never have too much of this when you’re in a high performance environment.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
8. You need absolute focus and attention, being in flow, or being in ‘the zone’ is paramount for the best performance you’re ever going to deliver, being your best self.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
9. You need a resilient mindset. This isn’t about being superhuman, it’s about getting back up when you’ve been knocked down, it’s about being mentally prepared to step into your power.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
10. Let’s face it you’re focused on winning, whether nailing that solo, coming first in a race, winning a match, or just feeling good every day. We’re all striving to win.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I’d love to know your thoughts, any more to add to the list?
